My mate had issues and it turned out to be the head.
Check the pipe that feeds the turbo they corrode.
Nothing wrong with the head or the pipe, just not sealing between the thermostat housing and the head.
I'll take it off again when I've got a minute and slap a load of sealer on with the gasket
