Default A reg 3dr Sierra 1.6

I very much doubt it was anyone off here but if it was, thanks for the chat and lovely old car you have.

Spotted in the car park to the Co-op here in Maidenhead, older chap sitting in it while his wife was in the shop.

The car was a revelation; a pristine and orginal (including paintwork) 'A' reg so 1983? three door 1.6 in blue, steel wheels with the original trims. Almost perfect condition.

I had a quick chat with the owner who'd had it since new back in the early 80's and it had only 55,000 miles on it. I asked what it was, "A 2.0?" to which the owner replied "No a nice simple 1.6 crossflow which I look after". He also informed me that almost as soon as he bought it he rust proofed it himself and by looking at it he did a fine job. Sadly I didn't take any photos of it what with the owner sat in it but seeing was believing. I'm not sure if the owner had any idea how valuable it could be....

A Sierra is a rare enough sight on the roads these days as it is, but to see this basic early 3 door model in such good and original condition really made my day.
