finally found time to bring my car back home , started to strip it down earlier today
Got lots of new bits for her too

Also been making a couple of bits

Ive always hated the way the tow eye sticks out the front , so came up with this
tow tube point of jag x-type with some triangular uprights for a bit of strenght

also needed some where to mount a standard zetec ecu So made up a bracket for that , with fuse box for lamba, fuel pump, ecu power etc and relays for fuel pump etc

Some mid way progress pictures

Then started finding more and more of the dreaded tin worm

someone elses "repair" of drivers seat mount

Offside rear inner sill

Offside rear outer sill

Bottom or rear wings still in very good condition

Also tackled the last major bit of rust on o/s/r sill

didnt realise just how bad this bit was
Then I emptied the inside of crud and had a good hoover out to get rid or all the grinding dust etc

today I masked her for schutzing

Now have a week off away from these sort of jobs ^^^
So I am hoping to get a lot done on the orion
more soon mike
More done
Underside all shultzed last weekend

Clutch release fork top bush was fubar , so turned up a new one on the lathe out of brass

Rubbish photo but here it is fitted to gearbox

And as it was raining that day , I also made up all my brake pipes

Next day I took one look at this ..... and thought f that

so fitted up a load of other bits , new rack, new poly rack mounts most of brake pipes fitted, refurbished mymaster cylinder , painted my servo and fitted to car

Fuel pips and front to rear brake pipes fitted

Rear tower bushs on

rear shocks fitted , originally I wanted coilovers but didnt see the need for road so Ive gone for konis instead

Rear anti roll bar bushs and new genuine drop links went on then fitted it to car

Built up new fuel tank put that on too and new handbrake cable on too

stub axles fitted
Hope to get some more done this weekend , just the wiring side of things is bugging me
Cheers bud
Done some more throughout the week
My fuel pump hanger was rotten so made a new one out of sheet aluminium
and sytec bracket

Hung engine in last weekend

Fitted up both front shocks and put rebuilt hubs on

Wondering about making some caps for the top of the shocks

Also bought one of them chepo manifolds off ebay and to be fair it isn't that badly made , probaly made of some rubbish grade of metal and will most likely crack

Been cleaning up drive shafts and cv joints on my lunch breaks at work

shafts looking smart and new boots

Fitted up inlet tonight

Also got given these , wont end up fitting them but I think they look bloody cool
More bits done
Determined not to get beaten by the rain , I whiped a temporary tent up

Fitted radiator and fan

Got few bits bk from the powder coaters today

So promptly fitted the gearbox and got the cross member fitted tonight

also bought some brand new genuine cosworth calipers and carriers off ebay which also came with some ebc pads too, result ...just need the discs now
Dummy fitted front brakes just to check all fits well

Rear wishbones and springs fitted

Exhaust fitted and rear end back on its wheels

Front end bolted back together

And on all fours

Front brakes on and system all bled up

Headlights where looking a bit sad , so bare metaled them and etch primed still need to finish these

De-tangoed my indicators

turned out my old radiator was fubar so luckily sourced a brand new ford item

I have had the car running but having a few issues with wiring still
Still ticking along
Plan on having the bodywork sorted and had a respray by the time ford fair next comes around
Also really want some new wheels ,thinking team dynamics pro race 1.2 or 3.0 or compomotive mo5 8) any suggestions?
So I've ordered wheel arches, full sills ,wings and I've got to order a front panel ,also made a start on my other 90 spec as the one fitted at the minute is hideous haha
I've always disliked the cut out in the front bumper for the tow hook ,so made a removable cover for that 8) and opened up the lower opening ready for some later power increases

though I haven't finished it yet

Currently working on getting my brembo front calipers sorted , brackets have been made my engineer
Only logical place to mount them was here in this position

So had my engineer make me some brackets up

Look bloody massive

Just need to get the calipers powder coated and fit new seals now
Then I can get my new wheels and tyres on 8)
Then on to the rear brakes and carry on getting ready for some body work action
and there we are up to date , will upload some more recent pics of it soon
