Chances are the diff itself and bearings will be fine, have just pulled a 2.8 capri one apart to rebuild and the bearing are still perfect even though its done 200K+ mileage. The weaping half shafts will be where the axle has worn where the bearings sit, to stop this you can now get slightly over size bearings that stop the leaking, if the shafts were easy to pull out then the axle is worn, their normally tight and need a pullers to remove them.
