Never carried anything other than the normal jack and wheel brace.
Bit different if you are doing a trackday but on the road I don't see the need.
Even after completely reselling the car I didn't take any tools on its maiden voyage.
AA card is there if it does let me down but thats only ever happened once when I smashed the diff.
