They are not as bad as people are making out mate...of course it depends if you get a good one to start with, so make sure you take someone who knows these cars inside out to check over EVERYTHING.

A couple of years ago mine was my daily driver (for 24 months) and even now till this day (6 years ownership) one turn of the key and she fires up ready for some driving. never over heated, pulling strong and only had one breakdown which was the starter, but that was a 30min job to replace.

moral of the story and in my opinion, dont be afraid to spend time going through the car with a fine tooth comb ...BUY A GOOD ONE, otherwise you will be forever frustrated.

oh and I would double your budget without doubt unless you're willing to spend a long time sorting it out...2k doesnt get you much in terms of a good RS these days
