youll never get it to start without clearing the eml im afraid, they have a "roof" (run out of fuel) strategy to prevent fuel pump destruction.

remove fuel filter, fill with clean fuel.

using a hand primer suck the return line to the tank from the engine to suck through the system.

clear eml, will probably be fuel rail pressure low or insufficient or similar.

once you have physical fuel system pressure and no eml it should fire straight up.
