Default Blacktop Zetec Gearbox options?

I've got myself hold of a Blacktop Zetec Turbo engine which is more or less ready to drop into my MK3 Fiesta however I'm a bit concerned about what box to use. I have 2 BC gearboxes, the standard Si box and a 1.8 Diesel which I will be using however I am led to believe that the front mount starter won't clear the blacktop sump? What actually needs to be ground off the sump to make the Blacktop fit the box correctly? I've seen on a forum elsewhere, the silvertop sump was fitted using spacers for the main caps and longer bolts however surely this isn't ideal? Spacers to me would surely crush before true clamping force is applied to the main caps which Is what I don't want to be doing. If it's as simple as grinding off a small section of the blacktop sump then that's not a problem as I have a custom tubular exhaust anyway which won't foul. Anyone done this before for a FWD application??
