Early e46's like to rust too, unsure on the later ones but it's not just the arches that like to go, oh and bottom ends aren't common but do go as has happened to oranoco's bro, I was tempted a few months ago but got cold feet and bought a b5 s4 instead
for my circumstances it was the much better choice.
