You can always wrap it in reflecta gold or send it off to Zircotec (expensive and may not be able to do it because of heat) better still send off the down-pipe and never worry (go for black though - wish I had)
You can also buy heat proofing materials from demon tweeks to make up shields but as soooo many have been fitted you would know if there was a faliure or fire hazard.
To fit is to a standard pedal box will take a bit of fabrication, you will need to find something that moves up on the pivot with a straight line action with no more than 5 degrees of deflection in the travel (to protect the piston) Fiddly job with the pedals out the car but with enough fabrication you could do it but would be trial and error and not sure if it would bleed up 100% correctly.
