The way I look at is if you are going to spend over£30k on a new car you want to see how well it goes and as long as you dont drive it like a total idiot they should let you go!
Yeah my bad, I didn't actually mean test drive, I meant test passenger ride - the dealer was driving..!
I put my deposit down without seeing a physical car or the press even giving a review as all the pre order folk did last year. But if there was a demo car for me to drive (the car I was in was not a demo car) then yes, I agree you want to give it a proper run
