They are needed. the far one routes below the inlet and t-pieced above the closest one to the dipstick(fitted to the centre outlet of the t-piece) . This one the hose is straight up t-pieced and then the upper of the t-piece has a one way valve(arrow on the valve must face towards the engine) fit inline to the hose, which then is fitted to the oil breather.
I have a bailey breather on mine, but personally i'd have a standard one fitted. theres a NOS genuine ford one on ebay.
