Excuse my knowledge of touring cars but my friend gas an e30 m3 in red,it was originally white then a purple metallic bmw colour.
Doing some investigation by getting the v888 it turns out it was the road car girl a touring car driver.
It was painted up the same as the touring car,converted professionally to rhd and had split rims and other bits on it.
It was omega security I'm sure that owned it and after they ran toyota corollas.
Once finished with it they had an auction throughout the company or a raffle,a lady won it and ran it for a year before selling.
I had the chance to buy it last year before buying the saph but didn't think it was worth what he was asking,now he's found the history he thinks it's worth more.
My best friend bought an unloved e30 m3 off a driveway where it sat for years for 2k,spent about 500 on it,abused it for 6 months and struggled to get 4k fir it,now 15k prob wouldn't buy it,he's in touch with the owner and still regrets selling it about ten years later.
Not very fast but handled very well,even on ancient mismatched tyres!
