yes it can be used no problem, you are best just connecting the engine loom up to the OE fuel pump feed which will run down through the inertia kill switch, the fuel pump loom will then take the feed after the kill switch as a trigger in the boot.

If its one of my fuel pump looms, its a small blue cable that you connect to the OE pump power as the trigger.
