Default Gearbox and Diff

Hi Steve, thanks for your reply,

I had purchased an MT75 from a dohc Seirra with a view to making a hybrid 2wd gearbox by using the front of the casing from the 4x4 gearbox. I will then need an Atlas axle with an LSD.

Would the gearbox from a diesel be a better donor for the rear casing and gears?

What I was trying to do was use as many of the parts I all ready have, i.e. the IRS from either the Seirra or the Scorpio the engine came from, I also have a complete front subframe and suspension from a MK2 2.8i Ford Granada, the BOA will fit on it and it would improve the brakes and steering and avoid having to fabricate mounts for the struts as it is double wishbone.

It would be easier to go down this route but I'm 6'4" and am aware of how much room the tunnel would take up, having said that the car may end up as road legal but used solely on the track.

Cheers,

Phil.
