I had to do this on my Mondeo Td when the pats threw a wobble on a Friday afternoon when leaving London to head home for the weekend, and it took me 5 hours to get home on the back of recovery wagon, I was so pee'd, pretty sure someone on here gave me the advice to fix it, I remember having to Hotwire the pats module though, was a right mare, I just went balls deep with the wiring as no one knew how to bypass it, but was still left with a none running engine until I got the solenoid changed and wired up.
