Yes I was 3 dr registrar for about 4 years for the RSOC and really enjoyed it, I stopped because I was so busy with work and felt I wasn't giving it enough time

Only prob with an underside resto is it stops you using the car in the wet, if it gets wet which mine has a few times it's easy to clean just time consuming

The other good thing about doing your own resto is it's nice to know every nut and bolt under your car yourself
