I suspect my local mapper (a college tutor) is more familiar with Omex but he is mapping a friend's car which is running MS2 on a WRX engined VW Beetle. I shall have to have a chat with him again. He did say to both of us however that he was not happy mapping a car with cheap sensors fitted (i.e non OE) as this could cause him a few issues which simply are not present with OE items.

new omex 600 ecu and loom is around 850 from omex themselves - well my last one was anyhow. GOtta be better than a 30 year old ecu and loom.
I meant to say that the 600 was the one I was looking at . It's not the loom (even a fully built loom) and ECU which is putting me off; it's the rest of the costs. Due to running MFI I will need to basically redo the entire injection system, which as far as I can see will cost big bucks. But yes, it would be alot better than what I have and have seen less hands along the way.
