well after much thought ive decided to make use of the crap ive lying around. ive a 3 door focus 1.8 sitting out the back so gona make use of it...
yes it will be a short pick up but will be light and quick. not sure what colour to respray it but will consider that closer the time.
gearbox is knackered on it so its a perfect donor car for project. I also have the st kit for it and twin exit exhaust so am half way there.
the advice I need is down to to the fact I'm a novice at this guys and need help/advice through the project. I'm car diy so this will be the largest project ive taken on.
1. i'll start at the beginning. with using a smashed non returnable st to the road as the donor car and I having the same shape/year and mine being the 1.8 petrol is the loom the same?
2. what do I need for transplant? the engine, gearbox, drive shafts, hubs, subframe, ecu, dash, speedo, st front seats or do I go different like the audi r8 seats etc, fuels delivery and tank?
3. do I have to add supports on the inside when removing the roof before I chop it?
4. how do I mould the rear sides and back, and what can I do about the floor and obviously drain off points due to rain etc...
5. am I best with a rear drop tail or am I just making work for myself? I think it would look better if it did have a rear drop tail...
much appreciate it if you could look at the pics below and supply me with as much advice as possible about anything ive missed or what would be better.
cheers
Dan
