Not necessarily cheap, but my experience with them was shite.
I had a spax kit (shocks and matching springs, non adjustable), Aside from being a very crashy ride, I had the kit fitted for around 5 years, and in that time I had to replace 2 springs and a front shock. Shortly after the other front shock gave up and when I was removing it all I found the one of the replacement springs had a big crack in it! Must have only done about 3000 miles. So it all went in the bin.
Bearing in mind that in that time the car probably covered less than 20,000.
