thats a bit harsh m8, Rob was offering good advice and info,
ignition amplifiers are fitted to many fords and different engnes including pintos, cvh's, x flows, cosworths etc, most dont have fuel pumps and a lot of older stuff doesnt have rev counters either
the job of the amp has been explained by Rob, the green signal cable in the case of youre xr3i is also used to give the rev counter a pulse and switch the fuel pump relay on, when the pump relay is energised this also gives power to the cold start & warm components,
if you had a carb rather than a mfi setup all that amp would do is supply the coil with its neg pulse,
as i have already suggested check the continuity of the cable between the coil/amplifier and the relay and rev counter.
we dont know what youre mechnical knowledge is or what other skills you have so if someone suggests something you dont understand ask be as descriptive as you can with any queries as people will loose interest very quickly if we have to keep asking what may seem like a basic question like what engine/car it is.
just for youre info my mk1 escort has 2 ignition amplifiers and neither of them do a fuel pump relay, rev counter or anything other than sort a spark out and its a cosworth engine
