The engine in the mk5 Injected Escort, if a 1.6, will be the EFI CVH. These are the best heads they did for the CVH and are much better than the lean burn and early hemi heads. Ford actually did some work to improve power and even fitted wasted valves. So keep the efi head, blank off the injector cut outs when fitting your carbs and I would use a performance carb cam.
