THE BAT MOBILE IS CURED!!!!

Stu rang me up yesterday asking how it goes into limp mode.
Typical! Drop your car off at a garage and the symptoms sod off.

But he got it sorted into limp mode and began his magic.

Had the swirl flap motor bypassed as everything I was reading on various forums that is what causes the limp mode and puts the TPS warning light on. Strangely the TPS warning light has nothing to do with the TPS????
But the position of the swirl is under the turbo where oil gets passed the turbo seal and drips
Onto the swirl motor and knackers it.
Asked for it to be bypassed as it will only fail again in time and it's near useless any way and it doesn't effect drivability or fuel consumption according to the Chrysler 300 C forum.

And he sent me a rather shocking picture. I believe what he said was that it wasn't flowing enough air so was going to pressure test the inlet system to see if there was a leak. But went to basics and "start at the start so to speak"
He checked the air filter.

Now this jeep has had 1 owner from new and a full main dealer service history. I'll let the picture do the taking.

an oversight by me as that is something I usually check now and then.

But if the Jeep dealer can't be arsed to change the air filter I bet they haven't put the correct additives or grade of oils in the drive train so will have to spend the £400-£500 on the oils and get them all changed.

The book says service every 2 years or 1 year if used for town driving.
Drive train every 3 years but after seeing that filter it's getting done asap as they are very temperamental to incorrect oils and additives.
This filter is apparently 1 year old according to the service history

Anyway. Stu kindly sent me a couple of pics.

Big thanks to Stu and Kenny sorting it.

Train up to Blackpool tomorrow to collect it and get all those 450 ibs of torque going once again!

Biggest shocker was the price. So much cheaper than I was expecting so will use the change for a proper service.

But will probably spend it on some LED light bars

The turbo is positioned in a great place above the V motor.

One of these turbos on the shelf in our store at work. Wonder if it would work on a 3.0 V6?
Look bloody awesome popping out of the bonnet though
