I remember the power steering pump went on mine and it sat buzzing away when the car was sat, which eventually flattened the battery and set the alarm off at 2 in the morning. Shit my pants! Had to unlock the door manually, lift the back seat to pull the boot cable under the seat, to disconnect the battery. Neighbors loved it at 2am!

Carlo off here sorted me under bmw warranty for a new pump though.
