Just slightly immoral. They claim on their website:

A new company has been set up to deal with the expansion programme and the older company closed so not to create any confusion.

It won't create confusion, it's to clear existing debt. The current company is not unviable according to them, just a name change.

If there were no debt to clear they could just close the company without voluntary liquidation.

As you say though Rod, they'll have been advised to do it by their accountants / solicitors so can't really criticise them for working within the law and regulations however unsavoury they may appear.
