Have you thought about one of these mate I can personally recommend one as have a mk2 MPs now after selling my RS.

I looked at focus St but for value for money these cant be beat 250bhp out the box and very tunable.
I get 30mpg out of mine but have had 34 on a run.
Only thing about the mk1 MPs is road tax cost but they are better than a focus St in my book.
