I guess everyone could place their valuables in a secure storage locker facility. Ya know like diamonds, gold, jewellery etc...somewhere so secure it would never get broken into.
Except they broke into that too.
So twin locks , padlock , alarm wouldn't put you off ? you need to wake up . Same as your example of a house , get an alarm . you have a decent car ,get a tracker .
