I heard a lot about this a while ago when I still had my e92, loads going missing round brum and Manchester, apparently they can code a new key with a laptop from your obd port, I had an alarm fitted on mine because of it, think it's been an issue with the mk2 frs as well, fingers crossed you get it back mate but it does sound like a professional job
