There's plenty room under saf arches to fit 17 or 18 inch wheels provided the wheels are the correct offset. Mine has the soft RS 7 Spokes as well and thats lowered on a full koni -25mm kit all round . I can have a car load of mates and a bootfull of beer and they never rub, but you will have to fit spacers on the front wheels otherwise the inside of the alloy will catch on the brake calipers.

It's the exact same wheels i'm getting (and also 25mm lowering). But I haven't heard about spacers for the front before? I know the offset is 38mm on the 7,5x17 7 spokes. How thick do those spacers have to be?
What tyresize do you have on yours?
