Import tax on uk cars is huge I think....I doubt anyone would have missed that trick.
You can get them through as a personal import, but you need to have owned it and had it in regular use for the last 12 months. You are restricted to one care every 2 years though, i cant remember what level of tax you need to pay however i dont think it worked out to expensive.
