Ultimately you will have most joy with a PID control algorithm as the open loop PWM is very variable dependent.

It's an Arduino Uno Rob. I used a 4 digit seven segment display for my boost gauge (Which was actually just powered by an Adafruit Trinket), but I'm swaying towards something a bit more flashy and maybe touchscreen for the boost controller.
It's a bit geeky but I'm enjoying it.
