What does that RAC check tell you ?

colour change
cat C or D or whatever..
outstanding finance

None of these things are answering the question you need answered..

Does it report the number of previous owners ? does that match up with what you know ?


Get a reciept for sure but if it's not his to sell that's not gonna help if the 'real' owner turns up wanting his car back. Even if he gets done for selling 'stolen' property you're left trying to recover your costs through the small claims court against someone who might be inside or suddenly has no money to their name thus paying you back at a pound a week for next 20 yrs.

Personally, bargin as it seems, I'd walk away and it's not like it's 5 mins up the road is it...

For me the seller having the V5 in their possesion and in their name is an absolute must or I walk. Plenty more fish and all that..

Down to you at the end of the day if you travel and get a good or bad feeling aboutit when you're there.
Best case is you waste money travelling, worse case your 3 large out of pocket.
