I'm having a nightmare lately with this bloody business. Apparently you can't get them anymore. They seem to go for crazy money on the bay too. I got a spare from Gary @ RS Classics. Think that was his last one though but I could be wrong. The speedo drive that the cable slots into is the part I'm talking about.
I thought my speedo drive was gone too cos I had no speedo on the clocks. Replaced the cable, same thing. Checked the speedo drive and it was good!, after me spending close on £100 for a spare!! Turns out the plastic gear on the main shaft inside the box, has feckin disintegrated
I managed to source another box which I got for cheap, that was some balls too cos they're so so bloody expensive and are close on 30 years old!
I'm swapping the box in a few weeks so hopefully it'll work.
