Sills can rust, but get a good one and they're great cars.
I have a 2005 2.5 V6 Sport AWD Estate and I looked at LOTS before buying this one. It's a manual and is not bad at all on fuel. The autos sap the fuel a lot as they're not really powerful enough to be a "proper" auto like I like them. For a fair sized car the fuel tank is actually pretty small, so that makes them feel less economical.
The V6 under the bonnet is based on the Ford block, but the head is unique to Jaguar. Good car, nice to drive, well furnished inside, handles great, handles snow really well.
