Adam have a look at the thin green wires from the coil. It runs right around the engine bay and ends up going to the ECU which lives just above the coil. Not sure why Ford did this but I have known them to rub through and earth out onto the body. You can isolate by just running a sort peace from the ECU directly onto the coil itself. It's just something you can rule out.
