been there done that with virtually EVERY nut bolt screw and clip on my estate

i actually found it easier to change the entire door (both drivers side and rear passenger side) than to unplug and run the wires and stuff and so when i swapped the inside gubbings on the other side was when i hit all sorts of problems, even the locks needed "persuading" to get into position from the 92 spec car into my 89 spec door, plus some of the plug ends needed swapping over AND the central locking cycles the opposite way, so i was locking the car and it would unlock, and vise versa

that was an absolute ball ache to remedy

but on a happier note, you can still retain the older style locks with the newer style door cards, the newer ones look much better i think and if you can get hold of them from a GT car they normally come in black too
