The shallow height is the only real awkward but here. That's the size of the main tank, would you have room for a small round sump say 4" tall and 4" diameter below the main body of the tank ? If so, that in conjunction with good internal baffling/collector should mean you will have a good solid supply under almost any circumstances
Failing that, and whilst it isnt as common, you could have a dual tank setup still within those dimensions.
ie build a swirl tank internally into the main tank, but it would still have a lift pump and main high pressure pump.
eg, Andy's setup in his Noble is pictured here, but you could build a cheaper version. And the small collector tank doesnt need to be round as per normal swirl tanks

Thanks for the info Steve. I could have a large sump but it would need to be off set to avoid the prop. The prop is the main issue really.
May be another option would be to have a small external swirl? Would 8" tall be big enough? Does round or square make a difference?
