I have noticed this too, technically the fuel comes from the same tanks at the same refineries, it is just the branded fuel tends to have the additives etc.


I always stay away from the supermarkets but on the rare occasions I have to use it, I notice a bit more diesel knock especially when cold and usually 50 or so miles less out of a fill up.
