I fitted Apex springs to my Mondeo Mk2 few years ago and they were ok. I wasn't looking to lower my car, but a broken front spring forced the issue, so buying a full set of Apex springs was just a bit more than 2 standard front springs (as I would replaced in pairs at least). Also having a broken spring makes you worry about the state of the other 3!!!
On my Mondeo it reduced the massive wheel to wing gap on the front, which always bugged me.
As said, heard good things about eibach and H&R, but you pays your money......
