Hi guys , just thought I would share with you a problem that I encountered with my zetec turbo black top running a gt25 .
Firstly , this was not a complete suprise as the turbo was getting tired and smoked a bit on boost which consumed a bit of oil depending on how hard it was driven .
This was ok up until recently when I was doing the routine checks of levels and I noticed the header tank was empty so I topped up /checked for leaks with nothing visible so carried on .
The next weekend the same empty header again !! I checked the oil and it had risen and also started to emulsify and removing the oil cap showed all the signs of a possible head gasket fail . Time for action I thought !!
A full inspection and series of tests were carried out as I have spent a lot on this motor . Without boring you too much and following gut instinct It turns out the turbo was allowing coolant into the oil . A gt26 is waiting to be fitted !!
