My lad's just renewed his insurance 21 years old, 4 years ncb for £865 on a Mk1 FRS, I'm 52 and pay £195 fully comp on a 2008 2.0 Mondeo, so your quotes do seem comparatively high.
Oh, and the 3dr is £150 for 1500 mile policy with agreed value
