I'd bite the bullet and take it in to your local Ford dealer. They should be able to diagnose the fault, then it's up to you whether you get them to rectify it, or take it elsewhere.

Obviously it'd have to be towed there, but at least you're more likely to get an accurate diagnosis rather than a string of guesses which in the long run could end up costing you more money
