Default New project

Hi all, thought I'd share a few pics of my new project car.

A few of you will remember that I have been building my white saph for a fair while now. Due to a few problems this year, I haven't done anything to it for a while as I just had no enthusiasm whatsoever.

A couple of months ago another saph shell painted in my favourite colour came up for sale so after having a bloody good think, I decided to take the plunge and start afresh. New car, new start.

My white one ideally needed painting again for me to be happy with it and the underneath needed doing again after the last guy cocked it up so thought I may as well buy the blue one.

How my white saph was before:

Feel pretty gutted but I just wanted a fresh start so needs must

It was a bit of a mission to collect it as it was a 1000 mile round trip! Took me and my mate Rich just over 24 hours with transit and trailer!

Started building it up a couple of weeks later. I decided to use all of the parts from my white on the blue one but seeing as the white one is a 4x4 shell, there are quite few differences like no mounts for the ECU holders, no mounts for the little control box thingy on the nearside of the bulkhead, holes in the A pillars for the wiring grommets/trunking smaller etc..... I had to modify a few bits to get around it but nothing major.

I retaped the whole interior loom in the proper cloth tape as although the loom is pretty much mint, the loom tape was falling to bits so that smartened it up no end

Put all the window regulators, windows, window trims, door latches, door wiring etc in the other day:

Did some more work on it today. Finished tidying up the loom, fitted the spoiler (to get it out my way more than anything as it was doing my nut in keeping moving it! ), fitted the rear lights, roof rail trims and with the help of my mate Ade swapped the sunroofs over from the white one to the blue one as its electric.

It's going in to have the underside stone chipped and painted mid December so I'm just trying to get as much built up as I can that doesn't go anywhere near the floor of the car (just in case ). I can then start to get all the juicy bits from the white one (6 degree beam, supra diff, coil overs etc) on to the blue one

I'll hopefully have it all built up and ready to go for next year

Thanks for looking and I'll keep the updates coming in

Gaz.
