Dave, with all due respect, I have had a 2wd head with an engineer who is very well respected in the area. He told me our head would be fine, although it is below ford's stated tolerances (source = workshop manual)...
So who, do I believe, an engineer who does this kinda work day in day out, or a piece of paper written by someone at ford ?
I saw steviep's pictures and thought the brass bit looked exposed to save him a lot of hassle fitting a possibly unsuitable head.
Sorry for trying to be helpful, next time you're in trouble and I might possibly have the answer, Doris will stay Schtum, in fact, I wonder why I bother at all
