I've had a few threads asking about different cars over the last few months.
There's been a bit of uncertainty in the company I'm working for with a risk or redundancy and the possibly of having to work hundreds of miles away. Times of changed, work is coming in and local work too! After spending most of last year and much of this year doing 180miles a day I've been put on a site just 3 miles from my house!

I've been fancying a change for a while but been worried about spending the money doing so.
At the time I bought my Mondeo I was 19, insurance was an issue and I settled with the 1.8TDCi. Now with a few mods it goes pretty well and sounds okay too!
But my insurance continues to fall and my urge for something with 5 or 6 cylinders and a bit more performance has reared it's ugly face again.
I didn't realise until I was behind one the other day that the C30 was available with the 2.4 5pot diesel lump! A C30 D5 would be a very good compromise between economy and power and the D5 with a decent exhaust makes a very nice noise too!
I asked some questions on a Volvo forum a week ago and received no replies at all!
So I thought I better ask here!
I was wondering if anyone knows how reliable they are? Did Volvo ever sort out the oil dilution issue after?
Although I'll be getting a full stage 1 remap with an EGR & DPF delete I would still like to know if it's likely to have done any damage in the past.
What sort of fuel economy do they get?
If I could get 45-50mpg I'd be more than happy!
How reliable are they in general?
Do you hear of many turbo/injector failures? Obviously there is the standard DMF that you get with every diesel these days.
Also, timing chain or a belt?
