Just got the engine back from the engine shop after I had dropped it off semi built needing a head job!
The spec is as follows
2 litre silvertop engine
Farndon forged conrods
Forged low compression pistons (JE iirc)
Metal headgasket
Block - stripped, cleaned and re-bored to suit the new pistons
Area Six cylinder head job with oversized valves and area six valve springs
Stock cams
New parts throughout the engine inc ACl main bearings etc etc
Here's a few starting pictures
I have most of the other bits, big injectors, Bosch 044 fuel pump etc etc
I discovered this on getting the engine back home....
which I am severely pissed off about, especially seeing as it was expensive work anyway

I can't be 100% it wasn't like that before it went but hey, if you building an engine up you would surely tell the customer the gearbox mount on the sump was cracked?? It looks like it has been dropped to me, but I cant be sure.
I am going to take this up with the engine shop, but is it worth welding this or trying to get a new silvertop 2 litre sump and getting a new oil fitting welded on etc?? talk about backwards steps
