No such thing as Performance air filter really, Only time they give more power is when the std one is past it and needed changing.
But they do have the benefit of beening able to be washed instead of just thrown away like std air filters.
So they do save you money in the long run on services.
In addition on some cars they can suffer with heat soak, hence performing worse than with a decent panel filter
You can clean some panel filters.
