For me I think cars are a lot more affordable now (second hand) or new with like £120 a month for a brand new corsa with no deposit etc. back in the 80s I bet u were lucky to be able to afford to run a car. I know people who are on benefits who somehow manage to afford to run a bloody car newer than mine!
