I have been coming here for a while and reading, and its about time I joined. I just got a XR3 as a resto project, and I need to ask a question that I have little knowledge of. A repair panel (About 3/4 Square meter total) had been fabricated and welded in place on the passenger’s side floor on this XR3 that I have just got as a restoration project. The repair has never been painted or had any under body seal, why? I don’t know why, I just know it needs doing. For the rustier part it is going to have a wire brush and Kurust applied, on the “Not so bad, surface rust” it will be cleaned up and Zinc 182 applied. But what I don’t know is…. Can you apply Hammerite under body seal over Kurust and Zinc 182 directly?
