Hi Stu, That sorta thing worries me as I would just make an arse of it, you are talking to the guy who snapped two fins off a turbo turning the housing round!
Would using an adaptor affect the performance of it do you think?

A machine shop will drill and tap your head for £20 or less so get them to do it if you don't want to, whilst there is no 'performance' loss using an adapter plate it's just another place to potentially leak and unnecessary IMO.
